A new product eagerly awaited by healthcare professionals has just been added to the range of solutions offered by Pharmaesthetics. Kirialys, a calcium hydroxyapatite collagen biostimulator, expands the range of injectable options and offers some very interesting benefits for body and facial care.

Calcium hydroxyapatite and its benefits

Calcium hydroxyapatite (or HACa) is a mineral that occurs naturally in the human body and is present in teeth and bones. When incorporated into injectable skincare formulations, it stimulates fibroblast activity and, as a result, the production of new collagen and elastin fibers. Skin treated with HACa gains volume, elasticity, and radiance, as well as improved firmness.

Its action occurs in two stages. Immediately, it produces a volumizing effect and helps correct the skin’s contours. Gradually, there is an increase in the synthesis of type I and type III collagen and elastin, which leads to an overall improvement in skin quality.

Cutting-edge technology, longer-lasting results

Featuring French-Swiss technology and manufactured in Brazil at the Pharmaesthetics plant, Kirialys contains calcium hydroxyapatite microspheres suspended in a water-based carboxymethylcellulose gel with glycerol.

The uniformity of the microspheres in the company’s product ensures better distribution and proper integration of these structures into the tissue. This reduces the risk of irregularities and an unwanted inflammatory response. In addition, it increases the predictability of the outcome, making the healthcare professional’s job easier and simplifying treatment planning.

The average size of the spheres (between 25 and 45 micrometers) is responsible for another positive aspect. This diameter range makes it difficult for the substance to be phagocytosed and eliminated, which ensures a longer-lasting result.

Standout Features

Kirialys has other highlights.

“The product is very soft and very easy to work with.” explains dental surgeon Renan Alvarenga, who holds a master’s degree in facial harmonization and is a professor at São Leopoldo Mandic College.

“As a result, it encounters less resistance when injected, which makes the procedure less painful.”

Another key advantage worth noting is that there is no need to let the solution settle between the time it is diluted and the time it is used. This saves healthcare professionals precious minutes and gives them more time to spend with their patients.

The product can be administered using a cannula, for a more superficial application, or with a syringe, for a deeper layer. It is possible to use Kirialys and, during the same session, inject a hyaluronic acid product immediately afterward. “As a result, in addition to improving the skin’s firmness, elasticity, and radiance, the volumizing effect is enhanced.”, explains Renan Alvarenga.

Safety in Use

Calcium hydroxyapatite is a substance with a high safety profile. This fact further increases its acceptance among healthcare professionals.

Effective at minimizing the signs of aging on the face, HACa should not be used in the eye socket area. Use on other areas—including parts of the body affected by sagging—is, in principle, permitted, provided that each patient’s individual needs are taken into account.

In short, it is a very comprehensive collagen biostimulator. A very welcome addition to the Pharmaesthetics lineup.

”The treatment is administered through pulses,” explains biomedical scientist Isabel Garcia, a speaker and scientific consultant at Pharmaesthetics. With Visalift, the device is pen-shaped (with a rounded tip), and energy is emitted continuously as the tip is glided across the skin.
